About Product

The Unit Postcode Points Geocoding file provides a target accuracy to within 1m of the address closest to the centre of the postcode. Many different additional attributes available indicating more information about the postcode such as whether on a red route, which traditional county it lies within (e.g. Middlesex), the height above sea level, the number of delivery points in the postcode, nearest rail station, whether there are flats and high rise buildings etc. If you need specific information attached to your postcode file, just call and we will be pleased to source or build the appropriate dataset.

What's key?

  • Target accuracy to within 1m of the centre of the postcode
  • Your own geocoded data will lie much closer to the correct street than with less accurate Postzon derived data
  • Historic postcodes from every release of Code-Point since 2001 are included so your customer data geocodes even if a little out of date
  • Accepts a variety of postcode formats, e.g. TW8 [space] 8JA or TW [space] 8 [space] 8JA
  • Annual licence with quarterly updates
  • Created by AMD (allmapdata)
  • Optional delivery point, flats and high rise, Census, ceremonial County, red route, nearest railway station and elevation information

How is it used?

  • To geocode your own data and position it on the map
  • Plan deliveries taking account of longer delivery times when there are likely to be lots of stairs (e.g. flats and high rise buildings) or avoiding red routes
  • Exceptional positional accuracy so the dataset of choice when geocoding points for use with street level data (e.g. for home delivery) or within small areas of interest such as 5 minute catchments (e.g. CTNs site location analysis)
  • Count up number of leaflets required for door drops
  • Calculate market penetration by comparing how many customers you have in a postcode to the number of delivery points in that postcode
  • Append administrative codes to your own data to facilitate aggregation to other health or administrative geographies
  • Analyse terrain and perform elevation modelling
  • Visualise the flood risk for each postcode and plan or insure accordingly
  • Plan deliveries that include rail transport
  • Include nearest station in property reports
