Routable Streets – HERE
About Product
Detailed routable streets vector mapping with a comprehensive choice of navigational detail, including achievable speed ranges, driving restrictions (e.g. one way streets, access restrictions, toll booths etc.) and information about the type of vehicle (e.g. bus, car, taxi or pedestrian) to which these restrictions apply.
This routable streets digital map data from HERE also includes cartographic details such as rivers, towns and counties together with points of interest and detailed address range information.
What's Key?
- Street-level fully routable vector road network.
- Navigation attributes such as speeds & direction of travel.
- Named streets with address ranges.
- Paths, pedestrian-only routes and bridges.
- Towns in categories for easy display as you zoom in and out.
- Country dependent extra features such as some building outlines, congestion zones etc.
- Wide range of pricing and licensing options.
- Originated by HERE (formerly known as NAVTEQ).

How is it used?
- Routing, scheduling and drive time isochrone generation. HERE map content speeds for each class of road provide information about access restrictions, direction of travel and special conditions for certain vehicle types.
- Can be linked to AMD INRIX speed data (see separate product derived from detailed GPS speed)
- Labelling map with address ranges for deliveries or leaflet territory mapping.
- Identifying location of addresses along a street.
- Adding a sense of place to detailed geodemographic studies, store location analysis, leaflet distribution territories or depot management.
- Overlaying just the features you need on shaded maps.
- Creating buffers around towns, roads and rivers to examine catchments or identify potential prospects along planned journeys etc.
- Embedding within your own solution, e.g. tracking systems.

Attributes
In Base, Standard and Premium Maps:
- Most features have name, ID and language code fields
- Roads and streets additionally have alternative name, short name (e.g. Rd instead of Road), DOT name and information about the postcode and district lying to the left and the right of the road
- The road network also has attributes identifying special types of road links e.g. pedestrian, bridges, tunnels, tollways, access to point of interest, boat ferry, rail ferry etc
- To facilitate fast easy display of place names at a range of scales, the gazetteer of places has a classification; capitals, big cities, major towns, top towns, mid towns, small places and villages
- Population counts are also attached to many place names
- In Geoconcept format, z values are also included that specify whether each road connects with specific roads that cross it, or whether it is above or below the crossing road
Address info in Premium & Standard Maps:
- First and last address on the right hand side of each link in the road network
- First and last address on the left hand side of each link in the road network

Navigation fields in Premium Maps:
- Road speeds based on posted or legal speeds in eight categories in KM per hr/miles per hour
- Number of lanes in three categories (one, two or three, four or more)
- Direction of travel along the road segment
- Type of vehicle with controlled access along the road segment in 9 categories (e.g. bus or taxi)
- Condition types and time and date information about when those condition types apply (e.g. access restriction, gates, variable speed sign etc)
