About Product

The Retail Turnover & Centrality data provides information about expenditure at the point of sale (as oppose to purchasing power income data that quantifies the amount of money available in the area in which consumers live). Understanding the total expenditure in an area will help you plan store locations and predict your turnover.

Another important factor is the retail attractiveness of the area in terms of its ability to draw and sustain retail trade. Retail Centrality data quantifies the drawing power of an area as a shopping destination indicating where turnover is likely to be higher or lower than would be expected from the expenditure by the local population alone. Retail attraction is calculated by comparing the demand of the local inhabitants (income available for shopping - see separate Retail Purchasing Power products) with the retail turnover (expenditure at the point of sale).
