Barriers to Electric Vehicle Access
April 6th, 2014It’s impossible to facilitate an Electric Vehicle (EV) without first knowing the charging points. Are there public chargers accessible? Will a private charging point need to be installed? Will work facilitate a private charging point?
For fleet management there are large groups of customers who, by moving to EV truck fleets, cut operation and maintenance costs by 50~%.
For electrical utilities, a robust network of EV charging stations represents a major opportunity for selling more electricity to consumers and for increasing grid efficiencies with new access to more stored energy.

Residential charging is vital to the continued rise of EVs. It’s not surprising that people like to recharge their batteries – in their cars and, metaphorically, their bodies – overnight. In addition, the advent of advanced home charging options is helping to allay “range anxiety” for most drivers.
According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, the length of time needed to recharge an EV is dictated by two factors: how energy-depleted the car is and the type of charger you use.
