Purchasing products
How do I find the right product for my requirements?
All of the data products on allmapdata.com are categorised into types. Each type of data is shown on the top menu, for example ‘Postcode Points & Geocoders’ - if you place your mouse over the top menu item, a short description of the category type is displayed with the geographic areas covered. If you click on the top menu item you will be taken a more detailed description showing 'What's included' in this type of data and 'How is it used'. This is followed by a list of product s included in the selected category.
When the products are listed you will see a number of attributes appear on the left hand side of the product list. The attributes will help you narrow down the product search. Some attributes will show an information icon for a description of the attribute - place your mouse over the icon to view the description.
Click on the individual product name to view a full description of the product. Tabs at the bottom of the page list additional detail including product and licensing options available.

How do I place an order?
Add products to your basket by using the 'Add to Basket' option. You must complete all of the 'Product Options', to ensure that you get the correct product. Once you have added all of the correct items to your basket, proceed to 'Checkout'. You will be guided through a number of steps to place the order.
Can I return the data after I have made a purchase?
If you find that the data is not what you expected you will be able to return the data purchased in line with our Refunds Policy. Click here for full details of the current allmapdata.com Refunds Policy.
Can I save a shortlist of products that I'm interested in prior to making the purchase?
Yes, just use the 'Add to My Saved List' option and any product will be saved for you without committing to a purchase. 'My Saved List' is accessed from the top of any page. You may add products that you wish to purchase to your basket at any time.
How can I compare different products on allmapdata.com?
allmapdata.com equips you with a 'Compare Products' tool to allow you to do exactly this. Add any products to the Compare Products tool using the 'Add to Compare' option on the product listing and product pages. Select the 'Compare Products' option on the right of the screen to see the products alongside each other for easy comparison. You can also add any products that you wish to purchase directly from the Compare Products tool to your basket.
allmapdata.com has told me that I must licence an additional product to buy this data - what does this mean?
Some data products may only be purchased if you are also purchasing, or have already purchased, another required product. To ensure that you are operating within the licensing terms, we will draw your attention to this before you have purchased the data.
If you are not purchasing the required product from allmapdata.com then we will ask for evidence of this data as part of the order fulfilment process.
Payments
What currency can I pay in?
Prices are viewed and payment can be made in British pounds (GBP - £), Euros (EUR - €) or US dollars (USD - $). To change the currency use the Currency Selector located to the right of the individual product being viewed.
Will I be charged VAT/Tax?
You will be charged VAT / Tax if applicable. This will be displayed when you check out.
My order included VAT/Tax but I shouldn't be paying VAT
The rules by which we apply VAT at checkout are given below. If some reason VAT is being charged and you have filled in your details as outlined in the rules below then please contact us. You can call us on +44 (0)20 8568 7000 during office hours or send us an email at allmapdata@mapmechanics.com.
• In accordance with current laws governing members of the European Union (EU), we are obliged to charge UK VAT on all orders to companies based in EU member countries.
• VAT will be charged for all orders delivered in the United Kingdom
• If you are based in another EU member country you can choose to remove the VAT by providing us with your VAT registration number. You should enter your VAT number in your My Account page on the allmapdata.com website
• If you are based outside the European Union VAT will not be charged
Data Delivery
How do I receive the data?
When purchasing data you will be given the choice to receive the data via FTP download or on disc sent to you in the post. In some cases where the file size is sufficiently small, you may request that the data is emailed to you directly from allmapdata.com.
In what format will I receive the data?
When choosing your data products, you will be presented with a list of available formats to choose for each product. If you require the data in a format that is not displayed, please contact us - we aim to meet your requirements and it is possible that we can supply other formats.
When will I receive the data?
MapMechanics aim to ship your order within two working days of placing the order. There may be reasons when this may be extended for example, to obtain the latest product update or to re-format the data according to your specific requirements. In all instances where we foresee shipment to take place beyond the two working days we will advise you of the new expected date of shipment.
Where possible the data will be sent to you via FTP download. This is generally dictated by the file size of the data. In other cases the data will be shipped to you on disc by post. If you are based in the United Kingdom the data products will be shipped to you by First Class mail. Delivery addresses in all other countries will be shipped by Air Mail.
Licensing
Do I get a licence with the data?
Yes, you will receive a licence for each purchase that you make from allmpadata.com with the specific terms of usage for that product.
Wherever possible, MapMechanics uses shrink-wrap licences. However, in some cases we will need you to sign a licence agreement before we can ship your order, in which case we will contact you as soon as possible after you have placed your order.
What are the terms of the licence?
All licences are different. You may request a copy of the licence prior to making the purchase by using the link on all product pages.
My payment details are different from the details of the end user on the licence.
You will be asked for the end user licence details at checkout. If end user details are different from your billing or shipment address then you will be able to add them at this stage.
